lou reed — street hassle (live)
from take no prisoners, lou reed’s ill conceived attempt at realness, live. by the fourth side of the original album the band had pretty much abandoned lou’s mission. as a whole, though, it’s a great lesson for other bands in how to avoid self-indulgence. the only stand-out cut over four sides: satellite of love, followed by a sloppy live version of coney island baby, and this just ok version of street hassle. lou, trying to keep the band involved for awhile longer over 4 sides. interesting historical note.
